Meet the ARC UK Board

The ARC UK board is run by a dedicated team of volunteers who meet regularly throughout the year to develop training and projects for our summer tour guides.

Interested in joining our team? Get in touch and send us an email, we would love to hear from you!

Associate positions on the board open every year. Alternatively, you are welcome to attend our autumn AGM – contact the Secretary for details. And of course, the best way to see what we do is to apply for and go on a project of your own!

Arielle Jasiewicz-Gill

President

I work with the other ARC boards across Europe to ensure projects run smoothly and that relationships with host churches are maintained. I first became involved in ARC as a guide in Florence in 2019 and have been involved in ARC ever since! Currently, I am completing my PhD in History at Durham.

When she isn’t volunteering with ARC, Meryl is a teacher who studied English Language and Communication in London.

Meryl first became involved with ARC as a guide in Paris in 2017 where she got engaged. After her wedding, she returned to France in 2018 to be a guide in Perigeux. Meryl had such wonderful experiences of completing her summer projects that she has been on the ARC board since 2017. Meryl works to create new connections with potential host churches in the UK and assists with the training of English-speaking guides

Peter York

Project Coordinator/Outreach Officer

Hi, I’m Peter I became involved in ARC after hearing about it at university, where I was reading History and thought it would be a great way of indulging that passion. I went to Munster in Germany for my project in August 2022 which I found to be an eye-opening experience, and I really loved learning about the history of the town. Aside from history, my hobbies include cooking and hiking.

Sam Wilson

Project Coordinator/Outreach Officer

Hi I’m Sam, I am currently studying Zoology at the University of Bristol. I got pointed in the direction of ARC through my friends at the University Catholic Chaplaincy, and after spending a month volunteering at the Cathedrale Notre Dame in Luxembourg I applied for a spot on the ARC board. I love hiking, exercising, watching films and enjoying a good pint..

Chaplain

The Revd Jules Cave Bergquist

Chaplain

The Revd Jules Cave Bergquist has been the chaplain of ARC UK for many years. We could never be what we are today without her support, encouragement, practical help and enthusiasm for our work!
