Applications for 2024 are now CLOSED

Applications open on the 22nd of January.
The deadline for receipt of applications is Monday 18th March 2024.

PLEASE NOTE THE DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO THE 25TH OF MARCH 12:00 PM

For further information about what projects entail, who is eligible and how to apply, please read the FAQs.

If you have NOT been a guide with ARC UK before:
– Familiarise yourself with ARC by reading through the ARC Charter and website carefully.
– If you have any unanswered questions, please email the President.

Complete the appropriate Google Form linked below e.g. if you are a new applicant, complete the “New Applicants” form. The information that we request is used to assess the breadth of our recruitment; the form is not read by those involved in the shortlisting process.

Please also write a letter of motivation and tell us about yourself along with details of any relevant experience, and why you want to be an ARC guide. This can be uploaded/pasted in the Google Form.

The recommended length is 400–500 words or one A4 page. Concentrate on what you feel is important, and remember that we are looking for evidence of your enthusiasm and commitment to ARC’s values, not any expertise. Type your name on, and date, the charter and upload this to the application form. The charter can be downloaded from the website. This is the central agreement between the different branches of ARC, and everyone who participates in an ARC project should share these agreed aims.

If you have been a guide for ARC UK before:  Type your details into, this year’s “Previous Participants” application Google form and upload/paste your personal reflection to the form.

Write a personal reflection (of about 400-500 words) on your last project. We are less interested in a factual description of the city and cathedral in which you were based, or of how the tours and community-operated, than in specific examples of what you learned from them. We encourage you to reread the ARC charter, and your original letter of motivation, in order to relate your reflection to ARC’s aims and ideals.

If you have any questions, please contact president.arcuk@gmail.com.
